Sick Again?! Is It Possible?! The Common Cold Attacks!* [Feb. 26th, 2005|12:26 pm]
[mood | blank]
[music |virt - Crystal Flash (Super Metroid)]

Just as I get over the flu, I catch something else. Just my luck, eh? Okay, either on the 13th or 14th I went to the grocery store with my mom, which is where I think I caught this, because the next day my throat started to feel funky. That is usually the early sign of a sore throat. I took some medicine and gargled some salt water. That stopped the sore throat, but that didn't stop what would come next: the dreaded runny nose! My nose started running profusely, causing my chest to be congested. I had to cough every few seconds. This cough was really, really, really bad. I couldn't go to sleep a couple of nights because of it. Finally someone went and bought me some cough medicine, which helped greatly. I'm finally getting over it. I just have to cough occasionally. I've pretty much lost all of February from being sick. Nice...

The Dean Elected As Chairman [Feb. 12th, 2005|03:35 pm]
Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean today became head of the Democratic Party, vowing a grassroots rebuilding effort after last year's electoral defeat.

Hosted by Photobucket.com

"I am the Dean and I am mean! I promise Democrats that whoever we face at Armageddon 2008, we will annihilate!" Dean said after the voice vote by members of the Democratic National Committee in Washington. Dean, a 56-year-old physician who failed to win his party's nomination for president in 2004, told the crowd: "I also promise you this, they will feel the BANG! YEEEAAAH!"

I Hate Getting Sick [Feb. 12th, 2005|08:23 am]
[mood | rejuvenated]
[music |Vixtrola - Gunboat]

My family was struck by a flu that's hit across Oklahoma. Since my sister is a 1st grade teacher, she brings stuff home with her all the time. She brought the flu home and first gave it to her daughter and then our mom. I finally caught it Sunday and ooh it was bad. I vomited around six times in just an hour. I thought about taking up permanent residents in the bathroom, because it was so bad. But luckily the vomiting part only lasted one day. I've just had terrible body aches. I haven't been able to do much of anything this whole week. I've just been laying on my back. Well, I'm completely recovered now, and I hope that I don't get anything for a long time.

Box Office Derby [Jan. 11th, 2005|12:35 pm]
[mood | shocked]
[music |CarboHydroM - The Nine Tails Fox And The Avenger]

At www.boxofficemojo.com, there's this fun game called the Box Office Derby where you predict how much movies are going to gross over the weekend. I've been playing this game for some time and only once have I made it in the top 100. Well, after a 3 month hiatus, I went back to playing it. The first time I've played in 3 months and I ranked at #8. I couldn't believe it. Now this weekend I came in at #9! I still can't believe it. O_O

P.S.
Download this song I'm listening to! It's freakin' great in my opinion!

The Following Day [Jan. 5th, 2005|08:07 pm]
[mood | blah]
[music |Unknown, zircon - When All Hope Has Faded (Chrono Trigger)]

It's been raining here in Oklahoma and it really fits the mood. Last night's game was a recurring nightmare. It was deja vu. This was Jason White's last chance to prove himself. To prove that he deserved the Heisman Trophy that he had won last season. This was our last chance to prove to the critics that we really did deserve to be in this year's and last year's National Championship. We failed to prove anything except that we really were undeserving. I don't understand what happened. I demand answers. Somebody owes us fans an explanation, but I know that we'll never get one. Bob Stoops is very tight lipped. With Jason White and 16 other seniors moving on, maybe next season we'll have a fresh start? Maybe this will be good for our team? I can only hope. I remember thinking to myself during the election, "Which do I want the most? Bush winning re-election or OU winning the National Championship?" It was a no brainer for me - Bush winning re-election. I wanted both, but I guess I should be happy that I got what I wanted the most.

Embarrassing [Jan. 4th, 2005|10:47 pm]
[mood | embarrassed]

As of now USC leads OU 55 to 10 with 9:46 left in the 4th quarter. This is really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really embarrassing. Even more embarrassing than last year. Jason White and the others have no excuse for the way they're playing.

Events That Have Transpired [Jan. 4th, 2005|07:47 am]
[mood | nostalgic]
[music |Sir Nuts - Introduction to Heaven (Mega Man 7)]

No, I'm not dead. Much to the displeasure of all the liberals out there, I'm sure.

Happy Late New Year. I would have posted this sooner. I had a bunch of stuff written, but my stupid computer crashed and I didn't feel like rewriting it then. I feel up to it now though. I swear, I think my computer is possessed by the spirit of a disenfranchised liberal. Anyway, here are some short posts on events that have transpired since my last entry.

#2 Oklahoma University manhandled Colorado University in the Big 12 Championship game, scoring 42 to 3. We'll be facing University of Southern California today. I hope we win the the National Championship this time! It'll be tough playing against Heisman winner Matt Leinart and Heisman nominee Reggie Bush.

We went out to eat at a place called Fire Mountain, which if you ask me sounds more like an amusement park than a restaurant. The food there was pretty good. They're kinda like Golden Corral, an all-you-can-eat restaurant, but maybe with a little more class. They had less food to choice from, but they obviously go for quality over quantity. I like that approach.

My old friend, David Lapham, was in town for the holidays. He lives in Tennessee now with his wife Sandra. I hadn't seen him in a long time and I hadn't ever met his wife. They came over and we talked for a while. It was great to finally meet her and to see David again. Afterwards we went to the theater and saw National Treasure. Pretty good movie!

I'm glad that 2004 is finally over. It was a rough year with the election and all. It was also a weird year that started with a wardrobe malfunction and ended with an earthquake that killed more than 100,000 people. I wonder what will happen in 2005? I hope it'll be a good year.
